The trimmed file will be in the same format as your upload — MP3 stays MP3, WAV stays WAV, FLAC stays FLAC.

How to Trim Audio Online — 3 Steps

Set a start and end time, and our server trims the clip precisely — no software installation needed.

  1. Upload your audio file

Select any MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, M4A, or OPUS file up to 100 MB. Nothing is stored permanently — files are deleted after 60 minutes.

  2. Set the start and end times

Enter the timestamps in MM:SS or HH:MM:SS format. For example, 0:30 to 2:15 extracts a 105-second clip starting at the 30-second mark.

  3. Download your clip

Click Trim audio and download your clip as soon as it's ready. The output is in the same format as your upload — WAV and FLAC files stay lossless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the output stay in the same format?

Yes. The output format matches your upload — MP3 stays MP3, WAV stays WAV, FLAC stays FLAC. Lossless files (WAV, FLAC) are trimmed without quality loss. This is different from many online audio cutters that silently convert everything to MP3.

What time format should I use?

Enter times as MM:SS (e.g. 1:30 for one minute 30 seconds) or HH:MM:SS (e.g. 0:01:30). For the very beginning of the file, use 0:00.

Is the trim exact — or will there be a silent lead-in?

The trim is sample-accurate. The audio is decoded and re-encoded starting from the exact timestamp you specify, so there are no silence gaps, partial samples, or frame offsets at the beginning of the output clip.

What is the maximum file size?

The maximum upload size is 100 MB and the maximum audio duration is 10 minutes. For longer files, you can use a desktop application such as Audacity (free) or GarageBand.

Can I use this to trim a podcast or audiobook?

Yes, as long as the file is under 100 MB and under 10 minutes. Podcasts and audiobooks are often much longer — in that case, split the file into segments first or use Audacity for longer editing sessions.

Is this audio trimmer completely free?

Yes — no account, no watermarks, no subscription required. Upload, set your times, and download your clip.
