Typical results are 30–70% file size reduction on the Balanced preset. The exact saving depends on your source image content — complex photos compress more than simple graphics, and images already saved at low quality will yield smaller savings.
Does compression reduce image quality?
The High Quality and Balanced presets are designed to be visually transparent — the difference is generally imperceptible at normal viewing sizes. Maximum Savings applies more aggressive compression and may introduce subtle artefacts on detailed or complex images.
Will the output be in the same format as my input?
Yes — JPEG in gives JPEG out, PNG in gives PNG out, WebP in gives WebP out. This is a compressor, not a converter. To change format while compressing, use the Image Converter tool instead — it lets you pick a target format and has built-in quality controls.
What formats are supported?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, and GIF files up to 100 MB. BMP and GIF inputs are converted to PNG for output since those formats do not support the same compression options.
