Frequently Asked Questions

Can I merge videos with different resolutions?

Yes. Each video is automatically scaled to 1280×720 before joining. If a clip is 4:3 it gets pillarboxed; if it is 9:16 (portrait) it gets letterboxed. The merged output is always a clean 16:9 1280×720 video.

Will there be a cut or black frame between clips?

No. The clips are concatenated at the sample level by FFmpeg's concat filter. There are no black frames, fades, or transition effects added — the cuts are hard cuts exactly at the clip boundaries.

What is the output quality?

The merged video is exported as MP4 (H.264 video + AAC audio) at 1280×720, 30 fps. This is standard 720p — a good balance of quality and file size that is accepted by all major platforms including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

How many videos can I merge at once?

You can merge 2 to 5 video files per job. If you need to merge more, merge the first 5, then merge the result with additional clips in a second job.

Do the videos need to have audio?

Yes, currently all clips need to have an audio track for the merge to succeed. Silent videos (no audio stream) will cause the job to fail. You can add a silent audio track using a desktop tool like HandBrake before uploading.

Is this video merger free?

Yes — no account, no watermarks, no subscription required. Add your clips, set the order, and download the merged result.
